Lib Dem candidate for Mayor of London, Brian Paddick

Brian Paddick, the man who was until recently the highest ranking openly gay police officer in Britain today launched his campaign to become the first Liberal Democrat Mayor of London. DELGA are delighted to be able to support his candidacy. Chair of DELGA Jen Yockney commented, "I first met Brian completely out of the context of party politics, as he and I were both speakers at a high profile lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender conference a few years ago.

"I was impressed then by his grasp of how the LGBT communities were so much broader than the lesbian and gay communities of areas like Soho and Canal Street and his ambition to reach out to those wider LGBT communities within gay equality work. I feel confident he will be able to bring that same breadth of vision to the role of Mayor of London."
